Agility's Engineering and Styling teams worked together with our suppliers to create bodywork panels from composite materials that can be recycled at the end of their life. The photograph on the right shows the various layup possibilities, including flax, jute, kenaf, cellulose and hemp. Panels are also on display at the Science Museum.
Four images of the Saietta with recyclable flax body panels. The Science Museum Antenna Gallery exhibit is focusing on Recyclability, in conjunction with Climate Week, 12-18 March, 2012. Given the new type of body panels, Saietta is even more sustainable than ever. With a powerful electric drive train and upwards of 85% recyclable parts, when and if Saietta ever comes to an end of its useful life, the parts can definitely be reused and recycled.
Saietta was chosen for the exhibit in part because of its modularity of design - the opposite of planned obsolescence. The modular design allows for new battery and motor technology, so the bike can grow with its owner.
